An empty commercial unit in downtown Inverness turned into a bright, branded retail storefront with an inviting sales floor, a stockroom, and an ADA-compliant layout.
The need
A local retailer signed a lease on a tired commercial space and needed a fast, budget-conscious buildout that reflected their brand, met accessibility requirements, and was ready to open before the busy season.
Scope of work
- Reconfigured the floor plan for an open sales floor, fitting rooms, and stockroom
- Built a checkout counter and display walls with integrated lighting
- Installed accent and track lighting to highlight merchandise
- Upgraded electrical for point-of-sale, signage, and display circuits
- Created an ADA-accessible restroom and entry path
- Finished walls, flooring, and storefront to match the brand
Challenges we solved
The tight opening deadline left little margin, so we front-loaded permitting with the Citrus County Building Division and overlapped trades wherever it was safe to do so. Bringing an older downtown unit up to current accessibility and electrical code added scope we planned for early.
The result
A clean, well-lit, on-brand storefront that draws customers in and works hard behind the scenes — delivered in time for the retailer's opening.
